Bob's beekeeping adventures...

So I have to apologize for just now getting my blog out there. I've been busy arguing with the weather so I can get 2 million things accomplished outdoors. Then my computer broke (good ole duck tape got it up and running again) . You see, I went to a part time status at my day job as a perquisite to retirement. Thinking I'd have way more time on my hands, I started a few projects that I probably shouldn't have. I also own a winery so that's a time consumer as well. And then I decided to keep honey bees! Well, you get the picture.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I've always wanted to keep bees so this year I decided to go for it. I find them fascinating little creatures. Plus, I like honey, and being a wine maker, I like mead as well. Not to mention that the honey bee population needs to be replenished. Even with all the other projects on my plate, taking care of my bees will be the focol point.

I'm going to keep this first blog short for now. In a few days I'll start posting the details of this new venture - how it all started, where I'm at now, and my outlook for the first year.
