Virginia's NewBee Blog: Drone-laying Queen?
Summer is nearly gone and life has taken over. My visits to my hives are far fewer than ideal. While I was at work yesterday, the hive inspector stopped and took a look at my hives. He left the above feedback with my husband. ... curve ball!
I hope to get into my hive tomorrow or Sunday evening, but am trying to be prepared for anything I might see while in there.
I know what might look like a drone-laying queen could possibly be laying workers if the eggs are on the side of the cells rather than the bottom.
Does anyone have experience with either a drone-laying queen or laying workers? Any suggestions or best way to deal with each scenario?
